Ear, Nose
and Throat (ENT) Surgeon
Duties and Responsibilities:
ENT’s, AKA Otolaryngologists treat
the ear, nose, and throat. They may also treat patients with a diminished sense
of smell, tonsil troubles, or infections. They can also be considered a primary
health care doctor. They also look into speech troubles and troubles
swallowing. Patients that have had things such as tumors, accidents, or deformity
may also be seen by ENT’s.
Educational:
An ENT must obtain a medical degree
which may take up to 15 years. They must also have an undergraduate degree in
this field. Another thing that is needed is an internship and a residency in
this field. They must pass a test done by the American Board of Otolaryngology
to become certified.
Would you like to be one?
I wouldn’t want to be an ear, nose,
and throat surgeon because it doesn’t interest me.
