Sonographer
Duties and responsibilities: Diagnostic medical sonographers specialize in creating images of the body’s organs and tissues.  The images are known as sonograms (or ultrasounds). Sonograms are often the first imaging test performed when disease is suspected. Diagnostic medical sonographers may work closely with physicians or surgeons before, during, and after procedures.
Salary: $60,350 per year
Education: Colleges and universities offer both associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs in sonography and in cardiovascular and vascular technology. One-year certificate programs also are available from colleges or in hospitals, although these are usually useful only to those who are already employed in related healthcare jobs, such as a radiation therapist.

·        Help clients adjust to changes and challenges in their lives, such as illness, divorce, or unemployment
Salary: $44,200 per year
Education: A bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) is the most common requirement for entry-level positions. However, some employers may hire workers who have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as psychology or sociology.

Environmental Health Specialist-Sanitarian
Duties and responsibilities: Sanitarians, or environmental health specialists, enforce government regulations and advise and educate clients. They also improve water and sanitation facilities and are involved in improving the quality of community environments. They often:
·        Collect and analyze samples.
·        Screen samples for possible health hazards.
·        Design or mange sanitation, disposal, and water systems.
·        Evaluate and identify health hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
Salary: $25,000-$50,000
Education: Students should take college preparatory courses, especially in mathematics and science, during high school. A career as a sanitarian or environmental health specialist requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in environmental health or environmental engineering. Many jobs require certification and/or a Master’s degree in these, or related fields.
